MARRAKECH

"Marrakech is simply the nicest place on Earth to spend the afternoon." -Winston Churchill.

Marrakech is known for its  beautiful maze-like streets, teeming marketplaces, beautiful architecture, and gardens. South of the Medina is the vibrant square, Jemaa el-Fna (pictured). It is the heart of this magnificent city, buzzing with its artists, storytellers, snake charmers & street sellers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Language- In Marrakesh, you’ll hear a flurry of languages including French, Arabic, and Berber. English is common anywhere touristy, but it’s definitely handy to know a few words of French.

Currency- Morocco uses Dirhams. One US Dollar will get you about 10 of them. When it comes to spending money, carry cash and we encourage your to bargain in the markets. Its part of the culture!

Climate- Think Desert weather, so warm, but dry heat! We will be coming off Morocco’s Summer season,so it will be hot but temperatures will drop as the sun goes down. Average temps for this time of year are high of 94 degrees & Low of 68 degrees. So cool in the evenings ( which is why events will start later in the day)

Clothing- Morocco is a Muslim country, so you’ll quickly notice some cultural differences. We recommend packing lightweight clothing as it will be Hot during the day but will cool off by evening. Marrakesh is very used to westerners, but keep in mind your attire for some of the more conservative areas.  At the hotels, you can dress however you like (bikinis included)

For Men, shorts & tees are fine.

Politeness When at the markets, if you’re approached or offered something you don’t want, kindly say “No Merci” or “La Shukran” and continue on.
